Women in Zion
Rhett & I just got back from a show opening at the JFSB tonight....Women in Zion. The show is called "After Eve" and will be up until late March. I was a tad nervous and excited to actually be there as people came to see the art. It was an awesome experience though to participate in a gallery setting without strict regulations or expectations on the specifics of art, just go with a concept and create! I'll need to be posting pictures from the show as well as the Mud show- a Ceramics show in the HFAC from last month.
This is the third show I have been a part of this semester and it's been a learning experience of time, commitment and dedication to a concept. Next- applying for the BFA in December!

Nurture vs. Nature juried show
A highlight of the semester for me will be getting my first piece into a juried art show! The show is called "Nurture vs. Nature" (and a bit of tribute to the Proclamation on the Family) and is currently in the 4th floor gallery at the HFAC at BYU. It was the first time I entered a piece in a show and was happy when it was accepted. WOOHOO! With one of my highlights though comes a regret, not titling the piece! But I didn't know what to name her so as it goes, "untitled".
If there was an artist statement included it might read something to the effect of, "A good seed planted will grow. These seed pods represent eternal and divine truths, planted within the spirit of a child. As the knowledge is planted, the seeds take root. Through the years, these roots sculpt and mold us into who we are today."
